Welcome
to the website of Willunga Creek Wines. This has been our labour of
love since 1994, for it was that year that we turned the first sod in
the paddock up on the hill behind our house – and began to establish
a vineyard here in our little patch of McLaren Vale, one of Australia’s
premier grape growing regions. It also happens to be an absolutely beautiful
place to live and work and we couldn’t dream of being anywhere else.
Now, we have some 12 hectares planted out to Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon
and Merlot, and are really beginning to kick some goals since our first
wine was released in 2002.
A Gold Medal for our Willunga Creek Black Duck Merlot at the 2007 London
International Wine Challenge takes pride of place amongst a growing
collection of awards and positive reviews from around the world. Please
go to our reviews page to see details of other accolades our wines have
received.
These awards are almost as important as the positive feedback we receive
from visitors and customers and go a long way in reassuring us (and
our bank manager) that we were right in picking a vineyard site up off
the McLaren Vale floor, and on the higher elevations of the Willunga
Hill escarpment. We believe it is the location of our vines and the
unique micro-climate they enjoy, that sets them apart and provides our
winemakers with such superior fruit from which to craft our wines.
We hope you’ll take the time to explore this web site and discover all
about our Willunga Creek Wines. Perhaps you’ll be tempted to purchase
from our direct mail facility. If you appreciate fine wine, we can guarantee
that you won’t be disappointed.
Cheers,
David
